Nowadays, with over ⅓ of UK households owning a dog it has become more important than ever to create an innovative and versatile dog travel kennel solution. Traditionally, dog owners secure their pets in the back of their vehicles inside flimsy metal cages which fail to protect your dog, car and can be incredibly rattly when driving. My only piece of mind during my experience with metal cages was that Margie wasn't going to jump around the car. I actually had no comfort knowing that if I had a crash, she would be thrown around her cage before being crushed instantaneously. And if her dad Wellington was in with her, the damage would be even worse to both dogs. I wanted to design something better. A versatile housing solution for dogs built with thought and made with quality.
DUEL HOUSING
Throughout the concept development it was always evident that I wanted to initially create a space where I could house more than one dog. After-all, why would you buy two travel kennels when you could just use one? Having said that, it was also essential to ensure that each dog would be safe inside. They would need enough ventilation, enough interior space (but not too much) to sit and lay, and their own secure compartment with a lockable door. It also allows you to have the flexibility of separating your dogs and can be especially handy incase one of your dogs is on heat, a nervous traveller, injured or still only a puppy.
MIDDLE PARTITION
In order to safely separate your dogs, we built the removable middle partition. Made with 20mm plastic, our partition wall slides into the internal grooves and clicks behind the lock bracket. We always recommend using it if you're travelling with two smaller dog breeds.
SINGLE HOUSING
For medium sized breeds such as Labradors, Retrievers and Border Collies the Dog Den offers a snug fit to sit and lay when travelling. No partition wall is required and you can choose which door you choose to use based on your vehicle, setup and dog breed.
